Never Enough
Oh my, this song means so many different things to me. This weekend I was not feeling so good. I did not go and visit my parents as usual but stayed home to try and have some much needed family time with my husband and our minor children. We did watch The Greatest Showman. Not exactly my type of movie. It was a musical which totally reminded me of watching The Sound of Music as a kid, husband kept thinking crazy how kept breaking into song for everything just like my mom did back in the day.My paternal grandfather died over fifteen years ago. I last saw him about twelve hours before he passed. I was aware that he was on his death bed but I was not told or aware just how close he was to death. It was a complete shock to me to find out that he passed in the night just twelve hours since my visiting him in the nursing home. It was just me and Sydney who was then just 5 months old who went to see him. I remember that my dad, his sister, her daughter in law and her granddaughter who where also visiting at the time. An aide came in to feed him some soft food, jello maybe? He had asked her "Am I dying?". I was not able to hear what she said but his response was "Well, I lived a good long life." And I am thinking but it is not long enough for me.I ended up feeling so guilty for not visiting my dad that weekend as it turned out he passed away Monday afternoon.Never Enough song by Loren Allred from The Greatest ShowmanRebecca Ferguson: Jenny LindI'm tryin' to hold my breathLet it stay this wayCan't let this moment endYou set off a dream in meGettin' louder nowCan you hear it echoing?Take my handWill you share this with me?'Cause darling without youAll the shine of a thousand spotlightsAll the stars we steal from the night skyWill never be enoughNever be enoughTowers of gold are still too littleThese hands could hold the world but it'llNever be enoughNever be enoughFor meNever, neverNever, neverNever, for meFor meNever enoughNever enoughNever enoughFor meFor meFor meAll the shine of a thousand spotlightsAll the stars we steal from the night skyWill never be enoughNever be enoughTowers of gold are still too littleThese hands could hold the world but it'llNever be enoughNever be enoughFor meNever, neverNever, neverNever, for meFor meNever enoughNever, neverNever enoughNever, neverNever enoughFor meFor meFor meFor meSource: https://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/greatestshowmancast/neverenough.html
